Oxygen Sensor (Carbon Paste) Starter Bundle

The Oxygen Sensor (Carbon Paste) Starter Bundle is designed to offer you  a complete system with all the necessary components to start monitoring  oxygen in vivo.

The carbon paste oxygen sensor was designed for implantation in the rodent brain, and is based on the electrochemical reduction of oxygen at the carbon paste tip. This has the advantage of a longer shelf life giving reliable readouts for up to 12months after implantation and they are less prone to surface poisoning. This works on the principle of a three electrode system. Thus, the starter bundle contains 5 Oxygen sensors, 5 auxiliary and 5 reference electrode.

Our sensors work by constant potential amperometry, therefore a potentiostat is required to deliver the specific constant potential to the sensor (-650mV for Oxygen). The potentiostat connects to the data acquisition system which connects to a computer by USB. We supply eDAQ’s popular e-corder range for this purpose.  This bundle includes  the e-corder-210 two channel data recording systems and comes complete with Chart and Scope software.
